Donor Advised Funds –
For today, tomorrow and beyond

A Donor Advised Fund is like a “charitable savings account.” You receive both tax and philanthropic planning benefits in a simple format with great flexibility. Donors make gifts to the Foundation and the proceeds, which are immediately tax deductible, are placed into a fund named by the donor. The Foundation will consider your recommendations for disbursements from your fund to approved charitable organizations. Donor Advised Funds offer the benefits of immediate tax advantages, and the convenience of management services from the Foundation’s professionals.

Donor Advised Funds can be opened, and maintained, with a minimum of $2,500 in appreciated stocks, cash or credit card. You name the fund for your family or as a memorial to a loved
one and you recommend grants, minimum of $100 each, to all
not-for-profits. You can even designate other family members
to succeed you as advisers to the account – into perpetuity.

You get a full tax deduction in the year you make your gift and you can defer your distribution grants to future years. The Foundation writes all the checks and provides you with quarterly statements on your Fund’s balance and distributions.

Fund Highlights
• Qualify for Maximum Tax Benefits
• Charitable Gifts are Conveniently Managed
• Money is Professionally Managed
• Teach Your Children the Tradition of Tzedakah
• Honor a Family Name or Loved One

Depending on the type of Donor Advised Fund you open, the assets in your Fund can grow tax-free with a fee based
fund (1% of assets or $500 minimum fee) or your fund can be administered completely free with the Foundation receiving
the investment gain on the fund.

It is important to note that your fund can recommend distributions to both Jewish and non-Jewish charities throughout the world. When our Foundation check is sent as a donation to a health facility, your Alma Mater, or your
favorite arts & culture non-profit, it has the double benefit of associating both your name AND the Jewish Community
Foundation to your gift.
